Villa of Hope Names Dr. William A. Dávila as New President & Chief Executive Officer

 

Rochester, N.Y. (January 31, 2023) – Villa of Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides education, treatment, and services for youth, adults, and families struggling with mental health and substance use, is pleased to announce William Dávila, Ed.D., MSW, LICSW, as its new President & Chief Executive Officer. Dávila replaces Christina Gullo, who is stepping down after serving as President and CEO since 2010.

 

“We are excited to bring Dr. Dávila to Rochester to lead Villa of Hope in its next chapter,” said Christopher Bell, Villa of Hope Board Chair. “Dr. Dávila’s decades of experience will be vital in continuing the Villa of Hope’s mission of helping individuals and families rebuild relationships, recover potential, and renew hope for their future. Villa of Hope Board would also like to recognize and thank Christina Gullo for her twelve years of dedicated and successful leadership of Villa of Hope.  She has done a tremendous job positioning the Villa for its next chapter and the Rochester community is better because of her leadership.”

 

Dr. Dávila comes to Villa of Hope from the Children’s Study Home, Inc. in Springfield, Massachusetts where he served as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. The Children’s Study Home is a nonprofit devoted to identifying and addressing the needs of at-risk children and their families. Before leading the Children’s Study Home, Dávila was Vice President of Clinical Services for the Center for Human Development.

I am honored and proud to be joining this extraordinary organization,” said Dr. Dávila. “Alongside the Villa’s staff, youth and families, and our friends and supporters, I am looking forward to building on the successes of the agency and excited about what we can accomplish together for our clients and the community.”

 

Dr. Dávila earned his bachelor’s degree at UMass Amherst, his master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) at Boston College, and his doctorate (Ed.D.) at the University of Hartford. He has certifications in diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as primary care/behavioral health integration. Dr. Dávila is a licensed social worker in both MA (LICSW) and CT (LCSW). He has been previously recognized as a Forty Under 40 emerging leader and a Fellow of the Partnership, Inc. (Boston, MA).

 

Villa of Hope partnered with executive search firm JK Executive Strategies, who identified and placed Dr. Dávila for the role.

Dr. Dávila comes to Rochester with his wife of 25 years Jenny and their two children Ajani and Arianna.
